As we approach the end of the year and settle in our first couple months on Valencia Street, now is the perfect time to look back on the past several months that ultimately led up to the opening of State Of Flux this past October. What may have seemed like an overnight transition from FAZE to State Of Flux, in fact it was quite the opposite. In the words of co-owner, Johnny Travis, “the vehicle has changed, but the machine is still the same” - so it was time to get (or rather, keep) working. The vehicle changed to State Of Flux, but we (the machine) were still here and ready for whatever was to come. With new challenges and experiences on the horizon - we knew we could not break.
With that, we took on our next step in the process head on. After locking down our new location at 1176 Valencia Street, we knew we were in for long months full of hard work. So, we got started on a build-out for the new space. We knew we wanted to utilize the space for all its worth. Our idea was to divide the bigger space into 3 components, retail, production area, and photography studio, in order to create a one-stop shop for all our selling/producing/post production needs. To get the shop ready for the opening, we spent many late nights putting the time in to creating a reality for our vision. The shop slowly began turning into what we had envisioned and everything was falling into place. All hands were on deck and we were prepared for the doors to open. The grand opening was a success and a proud moment. However, we knew this was just the start and were already planning the next step in the process - we knew we could not settle.
Whether you have been rocking with us from the jump or joined anywhere along our journey, we want to extend our sincerest thank you. This is our passion and to have your support makes it all worthwhile. And to everyone that helped us in opening the State Of Flux Shop: Alfredo, Eli, Kyle, Delfino, Lisa, Jayrawn, Herb, Johnny, Sazon Libre, SFC (San Francisco Chicken), Harmonic Brewing, El Tesoro - we couldn't have done it without you all. We can't wait to share our new products, space, and time with all of you and the community. We are all in a State Of Flux, so we must never break, never settle, or never fold.
